TownePlace Suites by Marriott Milpitas Silicon Valley has completed renovations on its 142 suites and public spaces.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Milpitas Silicon Valley, located at 1428 Falcon Drive, has finalized renovations to its 142 suites and public areas. The updates include new carpeting, paint, furnishings, light fixtures, and soft goods in the suites. Public spaces such as the lobby and breakfast area have been refreshed with new furniture, and corridors have been updated.

The hotel is situated six miles from downtown San Jose and is a 10-minute drive from San Jose Mineta International Airport. It provides access to local attractions, including the Great Mall of Milpitas, Levi Stadium, PayPal Arena, Santa Clara University, and the San Jose Museum of Art. The Milpitas BART Station, offering train service to San Francisco, is within walking distance.

The hotel features studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites, each equipped with a kitchen that includes a coffeemaker, microwave oven, residential-sized appliances, and a flat-screen television with streaming capabilities. Amenities at the property include a 24/7 fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, the In-a-Pinch market for snacks and beverages, and a complimentary breakfast with customizable options.

Trivago Completes $32 Million Holisto Acquisition — and Why That Matters

Trivago issued its second quarter results Wednesday and we interviewed CEO Johannes Thomas via Zoom after the earnings call to learn why it upped its stake to 100% in hotel rate aggregator Holisto for $32 million.

We also asked about Trivago’s new AI filters, its most recent ad campaign, and whether Trivago had “turned the tide.” (The answer: “The tide is not moving in the wrong direction right now.”)

Why is the Holisto deal important? Because the achilles heel of price comparison sites like Trivago, Kayak, Skyscanner and Google Hotels is that travelers seldom book right on their platforms.

Thomas told us during the interview that it acquired all of Holisto faster than anticipated because it handles Trivago Book & Go. A pilot program with partners during the second quarter showed significant increases in actual travel booking on the Trivago platform.
