The Sun Rose West Hollywood, located at 8430 W Sunset Blvd, is scheduled to open on August 1, 2025. The hotel, which features 149 rooms, will introduce new dining, wellness, and entertainment options as part of its reopening. The property is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ L.V.X. Collection.

The hotel will include a music venue, Live at The Sun Rose, which will replace the previous venue on-site. The rooftop will host Merois, a restaurant by Chef Wolfgang Puck, offering a menu focused on Pan-Asian cuisine. The rooftop will also feature the Moët Bubbles Bar, available on Fridays and Saturdays, and a Rooftop Movie Series with complimentary film screenings every other Wednesday.

Adam Blackstone has been appointed as the Creative Director for the property. Blackstone, known for his work with various artists, will oversee the creative direction of the hotel and its music venue.

The hotel will also offer a spa on the second floor, equipped with modern skincare technology, and a fitness center featuring Technogym equipment. Meeting and event spaces include a 2,300 square-foot ballroom and a 2,840 square-foot bowling alley.

The Sun Rose West Hollywood will remain part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts network.

Some of the world’s largest hotel companies saw their earnings dented by currency swings in the first half of 2025, as euro and baht-reporting groups absorbed losses while U.S.-based chains appeared largely insulated from the volatility.

Accor, Meliá Hotels, and Minor International all reported currency-related losses that offset solid operational performance. Meanwhile, U.S.-based Hilton and Wyndham, which report in dollars, did not mention foreign exchange impacts in their earnings calls and appeared shielded from the same pressures.

The U.S. dollar index dropped 10.8% in the first half of 2025 following the Trump administration’s April tariffs and public clashes with the Federal Reserve. The resulting investor pullback caused the dollar to weaken sharply against the euro, baht, and other currencies.
