Thursday, July 31, 2025

The offer is valid for travels from India to Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, among others, thus acting as a major sweetener for those planning a trip to Thailand in the near future!
The announcement comes against a backdrop of events in the region, particularly over the Thai-Cambodia conflict. The one day international between India and Australia was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Tuesday after the toss at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) ground was delayed due to a wet outfield. Widespread civil unrest in the vicinity of zones around the Thailand and Cambodia border has increased concerns about travel safety, however Thailand’s large cities have not been affected by the conflict and air schedules are currently operating as normal.
The Thailand Cambodia Bordered the use of small arms and grenades, causing more than 30 deaths and forcing around 300,000 people to flee across the two countries borders.
Nevertheless, under heavy international pressure and shuttle diplomacy, both nations eventually agreed to a ceasefire on July 28, 2025 at 000 hrs. The cease fire plan also served as another reminder of the failure of the five day border clashes to bring about a radical change in the status quo and restore some sort of stability to the area. Although the accusation that Cambodia has repeatedly violated the ceasefire by launching a small arms attack at night, both Thailand and Cambodia have come under fire to abide the ceasefire and to practice diplomacy restoring.
The US government is thought to have had an important role in bringing the conflict to a close with US President Donald Trump having threatened both governments with trade tariffs if the conflict had continued. Once a ceasefire was reached, Trump claimed to have directed his trade team to restart talks with Thailand and Cambodia to make sure peace would not be disturbed.

The Indian Embassy in Thailand released a travel advisory advising Indians to refrain from unnecessary travel in the vicinity of the border areas of Chanthaburi and Sa Kaeo provinces. But the travel advisory did not extend to the more tourism-focused areas in Thailand, so travel to destinations like Bangkok and Phuket are still safe.

Saturday, August 2, 2025
flynas, the leading low-cost carrier in the middle east and first Saudi national airline to operate direct flights to Moscow has locked a major milestone for commercial aviation into partnership with ‘Visit Russia’ by launching its regular weekly direct service linking Riyadh with Moscow. On 1 August 2025, the airline began scheduled direct flights between Saudi Arabia and Russia; it became the first to do so. The strategic operation comes within the framework of flynas ambitious growth and expansion plan in line with national objectives aimed at developing both the aviation sector as well as tourism industry in KSA.
Inauguration Ceremonies: A New Era in Air Connectivity
The inauguration of the new Riyadh-Moscow route took place with grand ceremonies held at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow. Dignitaries including Abdulrahman Al-Ahmad, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Russia, were present alongside representatives from flynas, Riyadh Airports Company, and the Saudi Tourism Authority. The celebrations featured special gifts and giveaways for the first passengers traveling on this new route, highlighting the significance of this milestone for both countries.
Strengthening Saudi Arabia-Russia Relations
This new flight connection is not only a milestone for flynas but also for the growing relationship between Saudi Arabia and Russia. It comes at a time when both nations are focused on improving bilateral ties, particularly in the sectors of tourism, trade, and aviation. By connecting Riyadh directly with Moscow, flynas is playing a pivotal role in promoting tourism and business exchanges between the two nations.
Flynas’ Expansion Plan: Connecting the Kingdom to the World
Moscow is the latest addition to flynas’ ever-expanding network of destinations. The airline’s growth strategy is guided by the vision of connecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with international destinations, supporting the National Civil Aviation Strategy. This strategy aims to enable Saudi airlines to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers annually, and attract 150 million tourists each year by 2030. Additionally, flynas is closely aligned with the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP), which aims to facilitate travel for religious pilgrims visiting the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina.
Vision 2030: Saudi Arabia’s National Aviation and Tourism Goals
The direct flight service between Riyadh and Moscow is a key component of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a transformative plan that aims to diversify the economy and enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for trade, tourism, and aviation. Flynas, which operates more than 2,000 weekly flights across 139 routes to over 70 domestic and international destinations, has played a significant role in the Kingdom’s aviation sector. Since its establishment in 2007, flynas has flown over 80 million passengers and continues to contribute to the growth of the national tourism and aviation industries.
flynas’ Vision for the Future: Expanding Routes and Destinations
With the addition of Moscow to its network, flynas now operates routes to over 70 destinations across 30 countries. The airline’s vision for the future includes further expansion, with plans to increase the number of destinations to 165. This expansion is in direct alignment with Saudi Arabia’s broader objectives under Vision 2030, which aims to turn the Kingdom into a leading global tourism and aviation hub. Flynas continues to work closely with the Saudi Tourism Authority to create seamless travel experiences for tourists and business travelers alike.
A Look Ahead: Flynas’ Role in Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Transformation
The Riyadh-Moscow route is just one example of how flynas is helping transform Saudi Arabia’s tourism landscape. By providing affordable and accessible travel options, flynas is supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to increase inbound tourism. This new direct flight is expected to boost travel from Russia to Saudi Arabia, particularly in the tourism sector, as well as attract Russian tourists to experience Saudi Arabia’s rich culture, heritage, and hospitality.
Flynas’ role in Saudi Arabia’s tourism strategy extends beyond just this flight, as the airline works to make air travel more accessible and affordable for international visitors. With its growing network and commitment to expanding global connectivity, flynas is well-positioned to be a key player in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 ambitions.
The launch of flynas’ new direct service to Moscow from Riyadh plays a key element in the airline’s strategy for growth and supports Saudi Vision 2030. In making air travel more affordable and accessible for all, as well as linking our home market to major global destinations, flynas is not only helping the Saudi aviation industry grow but also develop tourism in the Kingdom. With its low-cost carrier business model, emphasizing on accessibility and international standards of customer service flynas has successfully lead the way in elevating company offerings that meet a global demand.

Pilot explains why turbulence is getting worse on commercial flights – USA – Travel

If you feel like you’ve heard more and more accounts of dangerous turbulence on airplanes in recent months, you’re not alone.
It seems as though there’s been more reports of injuries caused by turbulence – a phenonmenon that used to be rare. Earlier this week, 25 people on a Delta flight traveling from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam were injured when turbulence rocked the plane, sending those without a seatbelt flying toward the ceiling.
And in June, five people were taken to a North Carolina hospital for evaluation after an American Airlines flight from Miami hit turbulence on its way to Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Longtime British Airways pilot Alastair Rosenschein told the DailyMail these occurrences are becoming more common, mainly due to changes in our atmosphere.
Climate change is creating more violent pockets of air, making it more difficult for pilots to find the smooth areas.
“Air space is more dense [because of increased commercial air traffic] making it difficult to get the flight level you want,” Rosenschein said.
In the case of Delta, Rosenschein said that passengers could have avoided injury if they had followed safety instructions from the in-flight crew.
“The number of people injured is usually directly proportional to the number not wearing seat belts,” he said. “They should change the rules now and make wearing seat belts compulsory whenever you’re in your seat.”
DON’T MISS…
Most airlines advise passengers to continue wearing their seat belts, even when the seatbelt sign is off. But wearing a seatbelt isn’t mandatory on many major airlines, as those on long flights will inevitably have to get up.
There are different types of turbulence, as many think the worst kind is during a storm. But Doug Moss, a former airline pilot and safety consultant, told the AP that “clear air turbulence” is even more risky.
Clear air turbulence comes during a time when the skys look clear, so pilots can’t see changes in air pattern. That type of turbulence can cause serious harm “because the time before the incident can be very calm, and people are caught off-guard,” Moss said.
A study in Geophysical Research Letters from 2023 found evidence that climate change can increase clear air turbulence at aircraft’s cruising altitude. It found that the strongest category of clear air turbulence was 55% more frequent in 2020 than 1979.
Rosenschein remains optimistic that has conditions change, so will airplane technology. Forecasting has already improved, with clear air turbulence predictions up 75% from two decades ago.
