( July 29, 2025, 01:01 GMT | Official Statement) — MLex Summary: A hotel guest argued to an Illinois federal judge that luxury hotels’ motion to dismiss his third amended US antitrust complaint should be denied. The putative class action alleges that the hotels have engaged in an information-sharing conspiracy that has fixed the prices of luxury hotel rooms across the US through the use of Amadeus’ Demand360 platform. “This Court previously dismissed Plaintiff Ryan Segal’s Second Amended Complaint because it believed that Segal asserted, in its words, ‘two contradictory theories’: that (1) Demand360 enables hotels to raise rates for a given night if they learn through the platform that their competitors are fully booked; and (2) that Defendants’ use of Demand360 caused hotel prices to rise overall even as demand fell,” Segal wrote in a memorandum of law in opposition to the defendants’ motion-to-dismiss. Segal argued that his third amended complaint “explains why these phenomena are not contradictory.”See document. …
