Hate Travel Planning? MakeMyTrip Launches Myra AI For Personalized Travel Itineraries

on

MakeMyTrip has introduced Myra, a generative AI-powered travel assistant designed to offer end-to-end support throughout a user’s travel journey. Built to work conversationally in both English and Hindi, Myra assists with everything from discovering destinations to making bookings and handling post-sale support. This move marks a significant step forward in MakeMyTrip’s broader AI strategy, aiming to simplify travel planning through intuitive interactions.

The assistant is currently in beta and supports both voice and text-based inputs, allowing users to communicate in English and Hindi, with plans to expand to more Indian languages. Myra can respond to nuanced queries like vacation preferences, budgets, or location-specific needs using real-time inventory and pricing data. The AI is integrated directly into MakeMyTrip’s core system, meaning users can seamlessly receive suggestions and complete bookings in the same conversation.

In addition to conversational support, Myra allows users to interact through voice, images, text, and even video. It can assist with complex tasks such as modifying itineraries, route planning, customer support, and bookings across a wide range of services—flights, hotels, holiday packages, visas, forex, and more. MakeMyTrip’s leadership emphasized that adding regional language support is a deliberate push to democratize digital travel planning for Indian users.

The tech behind Myra includes a proprietary network of specialized AI agents and custom-built language models that allow it to function in real time across multiple categories. The platform builds on AI features the company began incorporating in 2023, such as predictive train booking and voice-based customer service. This latest upgrade reinforces MakeMyTrip’s vision to make travel booking smarter, more accessible, and hyper-personalized for every Indian traveler.
