Qatar Airways has boosted its winter flights to key European destinations, including select places in France, Eastern and Western Europe and the Nordics. Key features of the increased schedule include the largest number of flights the airline has ever operated to London Heathrow, with up to 10 daily flights available. The deals solidifies Qatar Airways’ status as a world-class airline and the UK capital’s travel corridor with Doha, supported by British Airways’ double-daily flights.

Based at Hamad International Airport (HIA), Qatar Airways has grown to one of the largest airlines since it began flying around the world to the middle east and beyond. Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, said the airline is dedicated to satisfying customer demand for core routes. The additional flights represent yet another step towards our goal to offer more choices and variety for our passengers through our diversified and expanding global network – which was further strengthened with the opening of our new gateway to the world, Hamad International Airport.

This boost in service comes as Qatar Airways seeks to build on its already extensive network, providing more convenient and flexible options for travelers during the busy winter season. The airline’s commitment to enhancing the passenger experience extends not only to London but also to numerous other popular routes around the world, ensuring that travelers enjoy greater connectivity during their winter travels.

  • Manchester: Increased from 21 weekly flights to 24
  • Phuket: Increased from three daily flights to four
  • São Paulo: Increased from 14 weekly flights to 18
  • Sharjah: Increased from three daily flights to up to seven
  • Tokyo Narita: Increased from 11 weekly flights to 14
  • Toronto: Increased from five weekly flights to seven

This expansion reflects Qatar Airways’ ongoing commitment to meeting the growing travel demand, particularly during the busy winter season when many passengers seek to visit family, take vacations, or attend business meetings abroad.

IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has officially moved all its flight operations in and out of Tuticorin Airport to the brand-new terminal building, starting today. Say goodbye to the old terminal and get ready for a refreshed airport experience the next time you fly!

IndiGo Shifts To New Terminal At Tuticorin Airport

From August 3 onwards, every IndiGo flight, whether you’re arriving in Tuticorin or flying out, will use the new terminal building. The older terminal is no longer in use, so make sure you head to the right location to avoid any last-minute confusion. Tuticorin Airport also shared a warm welcome to passengers on X (formerly Twitter). The new terminal is expected to offer more space, better facilities, and a smoother travel experience. 

IndiGo also took to X and posted a travel advisory, asking passengers to update their contact details in their booking. The travellers are advised to ensure they receive all important updates, including flight delays, gate changes, or boarding announcements, right on their phone or email.

Here’s what the airline said: “Effective August 3, all IndiGo flights to/from Tuticorin (TCR) will operate from the New Terminal Building, offering a refreshed and enhanced airport experience. Please update your contact details and monitor your flight status for a smooth journey.”

IndiGo’s Strong Performance Despite Challenges

This upgrade comes at a time when IndiGo is doing quite well financially, even with tough global conditions affecting the airline industry. InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, reported a net profit of ₹2,176 crore for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025–2026, just one day prior to this terminal shift, according to News18.

Between April and June 2025, IndiGo carried over 3.1 crore passengers, a 12% increase compared to last year. It maintained a strong 84.6% load factor, even with a slight dip, and reported revenues of ₹20,496 crore
