Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has revealed it will be bolstering its presence in the Asia Pacific thanks to a recent deal inked with Ovolo Hotels. The new partnership follows a recent deal made by Wyndham to boost its budget and midscale brands across South Asia. The agreement to induct Ovolo Hotels is in line with Wyndham’s continued strategy to not only broaden its product but to also lead the introduction of lifestyle hotels into the region, delivering a new level of flair and poise to the hotel industry.

One of the fastest growing hospitality regions in the world, Asia Pacific is an important focus of growth for Wyndham. With penetration in budget and midscale, Wyndham’s partnership with Ovolo Hotels highlights the company’s strategy to penetrate the fast-growing lifestyle hotel segment, that brings a new echelon of style and sophistication to the brand portfolio.

The Ovolo Hotels Partnership: A Strategic Move for Wyndham

The Ovolo Hotels partnership is part of Wyndham’s strategy to expand the brand’s ethos of lifestyle into key destinations across the Asia Pacific. Catering to the increasing appetite for local and globally-inspired hospitality offers, Ovolo Hotels – the independent award-winning luxury design hotels, has launched a new brand, Mojo Nomad, in Hong Kong. The hotels are celebrated for their striking design, modern facilities and attention to delivering the best possible guest experiences.

Ovolo’s properties are currently in Australia and Hong Kong and are located in the best city precincts which gives Wyndham a strong foothold in the key major cities of Asia Pacific ahead of this deal. The collaboration will allow Wyndham to expand its presence with a new partner brand, providing a unique, full-service experience alongside its economy and midscale hotels, and offering to both leisure and business travelers.

Wyndham’s Growing Presence in Asia Pacific

The Asia Pacific region has been a growth hotspot for Wyndham for many years, with the company having an extensive network of hotels in place in both Southeast Asia and Oceania, and already does business in China. Wyndham hopes to capture a wider audience including millennial travelers who have come to expect more exciting and experimental hotel experiences, as the brand casts a wider net with the addition of Ovolo Hotels. This strategic action also enhances Wyndham’s status as a worldwide leader in the travel and hospitality sector.

The growth is a step in Wyndham’s effort to grow its portfolio across market segments. With the addition of Ovolo to Wyndham’s portfolio, the company will provide a greater variety of options for travelers and those who want affordable accommodation while on the go to those who are looking for stylish, high-vibe visits. In adopting a lifestyle hotel brand, Wyndham is also setting itself up to cash in on a growing trend of experiential travel, in which travelers want more than a place to sleep — they are after memorable or distinct experiences.

As it adds to its lifestyle hotel choices, Wyndham is also staking a claim in the budget and midscale segments. The company has recently expanded its presence in South Asia with the launch of new economy hotels on the back of the increase in demand for budget hotels in the Region. Wyndham believes by providing different kinds of experiences across all price points it will be best positioned to capture the varying demands of travelers.

Ovolo Hotels: A Stylish Addition to Wyndham’s Portfolio

Ovolo Hospitality resents thoughtful design, located within the most-trendiest and happening areas. The hotels are not about a room, they are about life and they are about society, with the capacity to seek out the right kind of art creativity and perfection – where modernity joins forces with a cool, unstuffy approach to the good things in life. This is in keeping with the changing needs and expectations of today’s modern traveler who appreciates the uniqueness and authenticity of their experience.

The Ovolo label has been a particular hit with millennial and Gen Z travelers, who value its mix of design, technology and social scene. The properties have interactive designs, social spaces, and a strong focus on sustainability, all values that appeal to an increasing class of eco-friendly travelers. All of these compionents makes Ovolo Hotels a fitting brand for Wyndham to acquire as it continues to identify with the growing lifestyle hotel segment.

Based in in prime cities with real estate features such as Sydney, Melbourne and Hong Kong, this is a brand poised for further growth in Asia Pacific. This alliance means Wyndham is able to leverage Ovolo’s regional reputation and presence as well as the ever growing trend in personal and original hotel experiences.

Looking Ahead: A Strong Future for Wyndham in Asia Pacific

As Wyndham broadens its footprint across the Asia Pacific region, the company is working to strengthen its presence in both mature and growing markets. Ovolo Hotels partnership provides further evidence of Wyndham’s commitment to cater to varying traveler tastes – at the budget end of the market through to lively lifestyle properties.

There are good prospects for slashing business costs by investing in this type of energy, in the Asia-Pacific hospitality sector, which will see a boom in tourism, as the pandemic recedes across many countries. Wyndham’s continued growth, and the addition of Ovolo Hotelsparticularly, will allow it to continue staying competitive and serving the broad needs of travelers.

In the Ovolo deal, Wyndham will increase its Asia Pacific portfolio and also invest in the booming tourism business in the region. With greater numbers of people traveling to Asia Pacific, Wyndham’s wide range of options is anticipated to be attractive to visitors of all kinds, helping establish the company as a global leader in hospitality.

Conclusion

Wyndham’s expansion through collaboration with Ovolo Hotels is a major step in the company’s growth trajectory in the Asia Pacific. With Ovolo’s lifestyle hotels joining its robust budget and midscale portfolio, Wyndham is staking a claim in the minds of a much broader group of travelers in search of contemporary, creative and truly unforgettable hotel experiences.
