Jackson Wang’s Colorful Trip to India: From Street Food to Kathak Dancing

Jackson Wang’s Colorful Trip to India: From Street Food to Kathak Dancing
Popular K-pop star Jackson Wang is back in India, and this time, it’s not just for a performance. The Got7 singer is on a journey of discovery—trying local foods, learning Indian greetings, and soaking in the vibrant life of Mumbai. He’s here not only to promote his new album “Magic Man 2”, but also to experience India in the most real and personal way possible.
Not Just a Visit—A Heartfelt Exploration
This is Jackson’s second trip to India. His first was in 2023, when he performed at Lollapalooza India. This time, he’s spending an entire week in the country, and he’s made it clear—he doesn’t want a guided tour. Instead, he wants to explore India “without direction and destination,” following what the locals do and living in the moment.
“I just want to go out, observe, absorb, learn, and get inspired,” he said. For Jackson, it’s not about checking off tourist spots—it’s about experiencing daily life, connecting with people, and seeing the culture through his own eyes.
A Taste of Mumbai’s Famous Street Food
Of course, no trip to Mumbai is complete without trying the city’s famous street food. Jackson has already won hearts by diving into local dishes like vada pav, dahi sev puri, and a spicy street-style cheese sandwich.
“I forgot the name,” he laughed, talking about the dahi sev puri, “but I really liked the crispy balls with yogurt and beans in them.” He even mentioned he’s allergic to chilis, but still managed to enjoy the spices. That’s true dedication!
A Moment with Hrithik Roshan—and Rumors That Followed
Jackson also had a special moment with Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, which quickly went viral online. Fans got excited, thinking it might lead to a collaboration on the next Krrish movie—Krrish 4. However, Jackson shut down those rumors.
“When Hrithik and I meet, we don’t talk about work,” he said. “Krrish 4 is a big film, but I’m not a part of it.”
Even though there’s no movie project, fans loved seeing the friendly meeting between the two stars.
Learning the Language, Living the Culture
During his stay, Jackson has picked up some basic Hindi words like “Namaste” and “Shukriya”. He’s also been seen enjoying cricket on the beach and joining in cultural moments with locals.
In one part of his trip, he even tried his hand at Kathak, a traditional Indian dance form. Though it’s a completely different style from K-pop choreography, Jackson seemed excited to learn something new and honor the culture.
Friendship with Diljit Dosanjh
Jackson has also worked with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh in the past. Their track “Buck” showed a fun mix of styles, and their friendship continues to grow.
“We’re close friends,” Jackson said. “He always shows me a lot of love. I respect him deeply—as a senior, as an icon.”
Fans are hopeful the two will team up again soon, and Jackson hinted that another collaboration may happen in the future.
A Deeper Side to “Magic Man 2”
Jackson’s new album, Magic Man 2, is more than just music. It’s a reflection of his thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. He said the songs were born while he was taking some time off and writing in his personal diary.
“The way the album looks and feels is exactly how I felt inside,” he explained. “Every track talks about how I see reality, society, and humanity.”
With almost ten years in the music industry, Jackson has learned the value of slowing down, taking time to recharge, and staying true to himself.
In Conclusion
Jackson Wang’s trip to India is more than just a promotional tour—it’s a journey of connection, curiosity, and culture. From dancing to Indian rhythms to savoring spicy street food, he’s showing fans around the world how to explore a country with an open heart and mind.
And for India? Jackson’s warmth, respect, and excitement are leaving behind memories that fans will never forget.
